Virtually everyone on planet earth thinks of having finding
lasting happiness, but only very few ever do achieve that goal in this
single-lifetime. The reason is because
- Most of them want to find happiness only from what is happening around them and what is happening in their life on daily basis. These kinds of people don’t know how to create happiness for themselves. Circumstances and situations determine their happiness.
- And the second reason they can’t find happiness is because they always allow people’s actions and words to determine when they should be happy.
Like George Sand said, “One
is happy as a result of one's own efforts once one knows the necessary
ingredients of happiness: simple tastes, a certain degree of courage, self
denial to a point, love of work, and above all, a clear conscience”, most
people do not know the constituent of happiness. Thus, cannot tell how they can
go about creating their own happiness and share with every other person in
their circle of life.
Finding lasting happiness is a daily pursuit on which you must
never give up, because it requires your effort to be happy. Not just because of
the things that are happening around your life, but from the things that are
happening within you. Therefore, finding lasting happiness becomes a choice
that requires you to find happiness from the joy that come from your spirit.
In my daily pursuit for happiness, I have found these things to
be true and I’ve put them to practice constantly so as to keep myself and those
around me in a state of happiness so long as they are within my reach.
1. Things Are Never Really What They Seem Or What
They Appear To Be.
Everything you see happen is never really what it appear to be. There
are always underlying causes that resulted in that. Take for instance if you
are in a relationship and suddenly you mate begins to throw off passive
aggression at you. Always, something triggered that. And the funny truth about
it is that you can’t find that treason on the surface, it is always underneath
the rubbles of all that winning and screaming.
Stop trying to give interpretation to things based on what they
appear to be, look for the underlying explanation. That it was explains why things
are that way. And how does that help you find happiness? It makes you solve
problems easily and avoid worry at all cost.
2. Stop Giving Personal Interpretation To What
People Choose To Do.
When you spend too much time trying to wonder why this person did
that and why that person did that, you are actually depriving yourself of your
right to happiness. You can’t keep wondering why the government can’t just
manage the economy well to help everyone and you hope to be happy always.
Stop giving personal interpretation to why things are the way
they are because nothing anyone does is because of you, it is always because of
them.
3. People Will Never Be You. Don’t Try To Make
Them Act Like You.
Most people always expect so much from people and sometimes they
don’t know why. When you expect too much from people, you are trying to make
them be like you. People will never always be you, stop expecting that they can
do for you the things you can do for them.
Don’t try to change people. People will only change only when they are willing to change.
4. You Must Learn To Let Go The Past.
The reason people find it so hard to be happy is that they
always see the past better than it was, the present worse than it is, and the
future less resolved than it will be. You have to learn to let go the past and
embrace the present. Think the best of the future. Dance. Smile. Giggle your
body. Marvel. TRUST. HOPE. LOVE. WISH. BELIEVE. Most of all, enjoy every moment
of the journey, and appreciate where you are at this moment instead of always
focusing on how far you have to go. Let go the memories of the past, if you
think of it, relief only the best memories of it not the worst. The past is
only a lesson you should learn from well.
