Have you never wondered why no matter how ugly or unlovable someone or something seems, we become so attracted to them the more we focus our AWARENESS on them? The more we spend time sharing moments with them, the more we become AWARE of them, they just become more and more beautiful and more lovable? I do wonder, and that led me to discover this: the more you focus your light on someone or something, the more you focus the light of love on someone or something, no matter what that is or who that it, we begin to see them in the light. And by that I mean we begin to see them in the character, the brightness of that light. We begin to see them in the effulgence of the light.
Imagine it this way, you are in a very dark warehouse in the darkest hour of the night and you can see absolutely nothing, everything is so dark. Then you realize that you have had a flash light on you, you brought it out and put it on. Now, as you begin to focus the beam of the light around the warehouse, you become aware of the things that are there. And the only thing you become aware of are the things on which you shine that beam upon. Everything else is darkness, total darkness just as it was before. This is why we tend to love some people to the exclusion of others or give others very little love.
As you focus your light of love, you become aware of people in the light of love. Their darkness [negativity and short comings] just seem to melt away. This is what happens when you shine our light of love on people in a dark world such as ours. The rest of the world still stays out of our light and so we only see them in the darkness. But the more we focus the light on them, the more it becomes easy to love them. The more we become AWARE of them in the light of our love, the more they become the radiance of out light. Why? Because we come to see them in the light of our love for them.
The same happens when the beam we are pointing at someone or something is not the light, but something other than the light. If you focus hate on people, you begin to see them in the light of the hate. Everything annoys you about them. Every word, every action, everything, good or bad about them just irritates you. Same happens with lust, anger, bitterness, jealousy, envy and all the kind of negativity there is. Whatever kind of feeling or attitude you focus on someone or something, the object of our focus become the radiance of the focus. And it always becomes magnified. What you see depends on what you are looking for. If you want to see lovable people, you just have to focus your light of love on them. If you want to see hateful and hurtful people, all you have to do is focus your hate on them.
You must understand why some people cannot love so well - It is because the light of their love is not strong enough to help them see others in the light. For the brighter the light, the brighter others become.
